Oh that little guy Conner

This post is mostly going to be just rambling, typing funny things Conner has said/done over the past few weeks. I want to get them written down so we don't forget them! So here it goes...

I swear, our son Conner is just full of funny things. He has been SO excited about becoming a big brother. He wanted to go to our 2nd appt on 2/2 SO bad, so we let him miss is Talk and Learn program and he came with us. He was in awe when he heard the heartbeats of both babies and when it was done he came over and said, "I saw the babies!" and gave me a big hug. He is going to be SUCH a good big brother. After the abdominal ultrasound, I had to have a "female procedure" done. They boys stayed in the room. Well it only took a few moments and as I was getting dressed, Conner got up on the exam table and spread his legs and declared, "MY TURN". Nate and I about died laughing!

A few weeks ago, Conner was talking about his friends at daycare. And he was actually upset over the fact that his BF Riley was talking to one of his other friends Ashton. He just couldn't understand that everyone can have more than one friend. He actually threw a fit at snack time when someone else sat next to Riley. I just didn't think that the drama started this early! At only 3 years old!!!

Conner LOVES to go to Chuck e Cheese, but he HATES the mouse costume of Chuck e Cheese. We went with my parents a few weeks ago and he was saying that he was going to give Chuck e Cheese a hug, because he isn't scared of him. Well obviously when Chuck e Cheese came out for a birthday party Conner FREAKED OUT. So much for that idea! He actually had been invited to two birthday parties on the same day. One at a gymnastics place here in town and the other at good ol' Chuck e Cheese. At first he said he wanted to go the the boy's party at CC's but when we explained to him, that at birthday parties, CC actually comes out to say hi to all the party. Well, he sure changed his tune, and then replied.."umm..I go to the other one" LOL Oh the boy. I swear! LOL

Here is a picture my dad took of Conner when we went to Chuck e Cheese. How can you not help but just fall in love with that face. He is such a sweet little boy.

Little Tidbits

I need to start writing down all the cute little things Conner does and says. I should have started sooner, being that he is 3 already. But his personality is just blossoming and he says and does the cutest things.

A few days ago, we were talking about Halloween, and he informed me he is going to be a "huper herooooo". I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. He also informed me that his buddies from daycare, Roman and Riley are going to be Huper Heroessss too!

Then yesterday, he started his Talk and Learn program at a big boy as I call it, elementary school. He was SO excited to go and was all good when I left. He started running down the hall to investigate! Well the teacher asked me when I went to pick him up, if this was his first day. *she must have thought he started at his other school, which we switched him from..but that is another story* I said that it was, and she said, "Oh we could tell. Not long after you left, the tears started and he was saying he wanted his mommy and daddy. But at the end of the time *it is only 1 1/2 hours, 2x a week* he was rushing to get his coat and his backpack and the teachers said, "Conner, you have to wait for you new friends." He promptly responded with, "Oh thats ok, I happy now! I go home!" The teachers got such a kick out of that! When we got to the car, I asked him how his day went. All he kept saying was, "I crying..I wanted mommy" If that just doesn't melt your heart. He is just SO smart. I love that little boy more than anything!

You just hate when you little ones are sick I did however take the opportunity when he was actually cuddling to take a sweet picture of him and his daddy. I have a feeling it will be a long night since he has already gotten sick twice in the last 1/2 hour. And the first time was ALL and I mean ALL over me! The funny part is that my DH was holding him for about 30 min. He had to get up and make dinner so I was holding Conner. Well about 10 seconds after we cuddled up is when he got sick. Oh well. The joys of being a mommy!

And here is one from last night that shows just HOW much he loves his pizza!!!

Wow, I am not even going to say how horrible I am at blogging. I think that is a given considering it has been 2 months! Anywho, it was a crazy January to say the least. My son Conner, who is a daredevil and will jump off of anything, jumped down the last stair or two at my mom and dad's when we were picking him up. Well needless to say, he ended up breaking his tibia. It actually is a spiral fracture and the nurse was afraid he may of needed surgery to hold all the pieces in place. But thank GOD he didn't. He is just in a cast right now. Nate took the opportunity to have his cast be black and green for the Gladiators, the semi-pro football team he plays for. So it is a landslide that Conner is the Gladiators #1 fan! It was so surreal the first few days when all he wanted to do was lay on our laps, because that is SO not Conner! I have to admit however, it was nice LOL He has never been a cuddler, so we both took advantage of it while he wanted to. Because now, he is up and walking and running everywhere with his Uncle Fester gimp. It is unreal how fast they heal, because he started walking only a week after he broke his leg. The doctor said this kind of break in an adult would take at least 3 months to fully heal, but with children Conner's age the longest it would take is 6 weeks! Thank goodness though, he finally got it off on 2/19! It was a Loooooong month! If this is just the beginning with him, I think I am going to have gray hair by the time I am 25!!

As far as I go, I am still biding my time waiting for my letter from Blackhawk Tech to see if I got into the nursing classes this fall. I am crossing my fingers and praying really hard, since I am completley done with all of my prerequisites, I am MORE than ready to get my clinicals underway! Also, I booked my first wedding in April. I am super excited, and very nervous about it. But it will be a great time! I haven't taken many pictures latley just because Conner has been a handful the last 3 weeks. But my goal is to pick up my camera every day and get more pictures of my own family! So to start, I am going to try and have a little "photo shoot" with my son tonight, so we shall see how splendid THAT goes over! So look for that in my upcoming posts. As far now, here are just a few snapshots of my little boy!

Wow it sure has been awhile

Ok. Cut me some slack. First off, I have been busy with school. Secondly, it is the holidays so I have been busy getting ready for those. I seriously though just need to spend 10 minutes at the end of the day posting..so anyways..Here are just a few from the last couple sessions that I have had! So enjoy!

These are of our friends' baby boy. He was such a cutie, and mind you, we had this "mini shoot" while my son was screaming and crying at the baby gate we put up, and their two children were wanting to get over too. So needless to say it was a very fast mini shoot! But I still managed to get quite a few keepers!

This was my first actual family shoot. They poses are kind of generic I know, but with it being cold outside and the family having a baby, I didn't feel comfortable doing any outside. That being said though, I think they turned out really really good and was happy with them!

I am seriously no good at this!

I did good at 2 or 3 days in a row, but now I have slacked SO bad..so here are a few from the newborn session, 3 month old session, and my parents' session for the Christmas cards! Also I am happy to announce, that thanks to Dewey06 on the 2peas message board, I applied to become apart of The Littlest Heros Project. This is for professional photographers to give familes of sick children beautiful, lasting memories. I am so happy to be apart of this wonderful program, and thank Dewey06 for posting about it. On a different note, HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!!!

I know this shot is no where even remotley NEAR technically correct, but it was just so darn cute I had to share it. This is my son Conner. He is only 2 and doesn't really care for alot of the "scary" Halloween costumes. But my DH found this at the grocery store and Conner and Nate were chasing each other around the store "scaring" each other. I am sure we got a few eye rolls from those people who thought he was out of control! But hey, they were having fun and they didn't get in the way and that is all that matters! So anywho, Conner and I went to the store yesterday to pick up a few things for dinner and the mask was on sale, SO of course he wanted it and I just couldn't say no to that precious little angel face. When we got home he was running around trying to scare the dogs and the cat and even his reflection! So here is one we got of him posing, I thought it was just way to cute not to post!

3 years of wedded bliss...

Today marks 3 years ago that I married my soulmate. This picture I think turned out pretty good considering we did the self-timer on top of our Malibu! LOL I always say that it's hard to believe that we have been married that long, that it only seems like yesterday. It is SO true though! We have been together for 6 years now and every day I just fall more and more in love with him. Ok, I will stop getting all mushy now. So here is a pic of the lovebirds taken while our son was running around like a madman wondering what the heck his mommy and daddy were doing!!:)

My mommy is SUCH a good sport! She is so supportive so she allowed me to take her pictures a few weeks ago and here are some that I got!

Wow. This week has NOT been a good one. My husband lost his job, and he is the main breadwinner and insurance carrier. My beloved Grandma is sick, my best friend's brand new son is having problems. I swear, sometimes it just seems TOO much to handle! So I turn to my photography. It is a great outlet. Here are some more pictures from my friend Amanda's maternity shoot last weekend. I am really, REALLY hoping my photography takes off pretty soon here. It would sure help out right about now.

But forgive me please. I am a mother of a VERY precocious 2 year old boy, going to school and working full time. My plate is just a TINSY bit full! ha ha But anyways, I have started trying to get more serious about doing photography. I started a myspace for it and have gotten a decent response. Right now, I am doing the shoots for free for the people who contacted me about it first. I have about 12 people in line, so I did get more than I expected but hopefully it will all work out! Here are a few from the first two sessions I have done!

I am so horrible at keeping this updated! I am taking TONS of pictures, yet don't have time to edit them since school just started. Plus since I work at home, I feel guilty being on the computer any more than I already am. SOO now I am going to do this WHILE I am working. LOL So here are just a few!

This is my little boy..I can't believe he is already 2.

This is the daughter of a friend of mine. We went to her big 1st birthday party on Saturday. I just had to share this one, because she was SO adorable in her lil pink tutu.

How could you possibly say no to this face? Impossible, I can attest to that!

I really need to get better at posting more regularly, but by the time I am done working *I work at home, entering insurance claims for those who didn't know* the last thing I want to do is spend more time on the computer. But I am trying to get better!

Well thanks to one of my Myspace friends, I have found an AWESOME website! It is called Picnik.com and since I have not the foggiest idea how to use Adobe, this program will work for now for editing pictures! So here are a few I have worked on recently!

Wow it is sad that I am impressed with myself that I have now posted 2 days in a row even though I am posting this after midnight, so I guess technically it isn't 2 days in a row..OH WELL! LOL Ok down to business. I am desperatly trying to learn the artform of editing pictures. Actions, tools..blah blah blah, are all completley lost on me! But I am trying, slow but sure to learn the ropes. Here is a sample of one that I edited last night.

Wow, it has been a crazy July to say the least! We had a family reunion down in good ol' Manhattan. And that would be Kansas! It was a 11-12 hour drive down in an extended cab truck. My legs were going crazy as well as my son! He was great on the drive there and back, but good GOD he was whiny, clingy and just down right obnoxious most of the weekend. I was so mad, because for almost everyone, this was their first time meeting him, and THIS is how he acts?! But we made it home in one piece. Then came Wednesday night. Our nightly ritual is to roughhouse on the bed before bedtime for Conner. This has worked for his almost 2 years without too many bumps and bruises. Well on Wednesday night, Conner took a HARD header into the wall. He started crying instantly and when Nate rolled him over he already had a bruise. After only about 15 seconds he developed a HUGE goose-egg on his poor forehead AND a bloody nose. The bloody nose freaked me out because I did not see him hit his nose on the wall. So off to ER we went. The real kicker is though, that while we waited almost three hours to be seen, Conner was running EVERYWHERE and I mean EVERYWHERE. He was laughing and being the entertainment for everyone that was in the waiting room. Then when we finally got back there for like 15 min, he actually wanted to play on the ER bed! I swear that kid will never learn! The pics of his lump are actually the day after. The swelling went down ALOT, so the pictures do not do it justice at all! But hopefully that will be his last ER trip for at least a year or two! Who know though with boys!

Not exactly sure what he was doing here, looks like he is doing Kung-Fu.

He and Teyton were squabbling over who got to ride Conners ATV toy. For as big as Conner is, he didn't put up much of a fuss and just let him play with it!

What crappy weather!!

This weather around here is just getting insane. Nate had a football game yesterday and during the 1 hour first half, there were TWO tornado warnings! My mother-in-law took Conner home after the first one, which was good because it was SO frickin hot out and he never knows when to stop running and playing. After the tornado warning, my dad and I decided to head home because it was pretty black out and Nate had said the game was called. Well 2 hours later he was still not home. So I am thinking the worst. A tornado came and knocked the school down so he is trapped or something! I am my grandfathers granddaughter!:) Well all was fine because they actually started playing again! Nate didn't have time to call me so I missed the whole second half! I was so mad! So these pics are actually only the first 1/2. But oh well! Oh and on a side note, they ended up losing in overtime 30-24:( This is only the 1 regular season game. The rest of the summer should be awesome watching him play!
Oh on another side note, I finally found a feature to edit pics with color booster and all that jazz, so hopefully now my pics will *pop* a little more. None of these however are edited yet!

Brewer Game

Last night, Nate and I had our "date night" and took a trip up to Milwaukee to see the Brewers play. We had awesome seats considering they only cost $36 a ticket. And we got to see Randy Johnson pitch! Which was really cool! I got some fairly good pictures thanks to my good 'olzoom lens! Overall it was a great night!

Fun week

This week has been relativley nice outside for late May in Wisconsin, so we have been taking advantage of that. Plus, Nate has had the last week and a half off, so we are getting out and enjoying all this free time! Conner NEVER slows down. He will go until he falls over from exhaustion. So it is always nice when we take him to the park, because we know that a NICE, LOONG nap awaits him. As you can tell, Daddy is Conner's bestest buddy!

Well my awesome-at-photography cousin, Jordan, had mentioned possibly starting a blog. Well, since school is out for the summer, I thought why not! So here is my wonderful first blog. This is probably my most favorite picture I have taken recently of my son. These crazy sunglasses are my wonderful mom's, that she bought in San Fransisco. This picture totally sums up my little(or I guess not-so-little) boy.

And since this is my first post, I will include other photos of my whole family for all to enjoy;) Now granted these are just snapshots, not edited or anything, since I am still learning all those fancy skills!
